I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
