Her Royal Highness has organised her yearly Yuletide celebration at the historic Abbey, with attendees featuring royals, celebrities and local heroes who have supported their local areas.
The large audience will listen to a selection of carols, music and readings from actors such as Chiwetel Ejiofor and Kate Winslet.
A Theme of Compassion and Love
The central message of the service, held in the glowing Westminster Abbey on the afternoon, is generosity and expressing affection towards one's neighbour.
In the audience are Anna and Jonathan Cordiner, whose young girl was lost to a brain tumour, and who founded an organisation, a support fund, to support families who have a child with a terminal illness.
"Your efforts, love, and understanding, often without fanfare or recognition, and without any thought of thanks or praise, make an extraordinary difference to the circumstances of individuals," wrote Catherine in a message before the carol service.
A Steady Comeback
The Princess of Wales is continuing her own steady comeback to official duties after her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy, recently giving her major oration since 2023, in which she talked about recognising the "quiet, often invisible work of caring".
Musical Talent and Access
Attendees entering the Abbey will be entertained by talented youth performers backed by the Future Talent charity, set up with the help of the late Duchess of Kent to broaden opportunities for instrumental training.
Trumpeter Carys Wood, 18, who is a trumpet player and is from Pembrokeshire, has been assisted by the trust, with grants helping towards equipment, teaching, and travel fees - and she said it was "amazing" to be performing at the evening's event.
"Pursuing music is often costly," she stated. She is now studying at the prestigious music academy, and added that "each individual ought to be given the possibility" to cultivate their performance abilities.
A Sisterly Duo
Her younger sibling Eliza, aged 11, who is a euphonium player, will also be at the Abbey. "I never imagined I would perform in front of so many notable figures," she said.
Attending the service will be people from various age groups.
That will encompass young Saphia Turner, nine, honouree of a youth community award, who produces drawings and undertakes charity feats to raise money for local food charities.
Festive Decor and Performances
The Abbey has been decorated with custom-created holiday decorations, with celebrity baker Mary Berry and floral designer Simon Lycett contributing to their design.
The musical lineup includes singer Katie Melua, choristers from Westminster Abbey and a Cornish sea shanty group, the group Fisherman's Friends, who said the invitation to sing was "the icing on the cake for us."
The Together at Christmas carol concert will be broadcast on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.
